Happy Halloween

Trick or Treat! When I was a kid we used to4055855830_69df0e47ba_m say  “Halloween Apples!” Out here in our woods we don’t get any goblins or gremlins brave enough to come to our door (truth is they hit the more lucrative subdivisions).

4055843402_6dfeb330f1_mThat’s okay with me you scaredy cats – I’ll have time to sew. See these adorable little quilts by Sonja, I think I’ll treat myself and use  her free patterns  to make myself some.  Thank you for the sweet treats, Sonja!

Actually around here today it looks a lot more like Christmas than Halloween with everything covered with snow!  So last night I did all the preparations for baking my fruitcakes and I just popped them into the oven.

No quilting today but I did make these two pillowcases using this pattern.  Christmas is fast approaching and it’s time to start stockpiling some gifts.

Fall Splendour

100_3590

Here’s a photo taken from the rear of our property looking back.   The purple and white asters looked amazing this year mixed with the goldenrod.  On the hillside across the road the leaves are showing off their Fall colours.  It’s Thanksgiving this weekend in Canada.  The weather in our region is unseasonably warm and the roads are packed with cars taking in the leaves, roadside markets, Fall Fairs, Church suppers and of course being thankful with family and friends.

Jake wanted to me to you his owwie.  Being a Jack Russell sometimes has it’s drawbacks, you may THINK you are bigger and tougher than ANYTHING  but your not.

Thankfully one thing you are IS fast on your feet and that is just what may have saved the rest of his nose from this guy…….
