Extension Table Wish Granted!

How lucky am I! Oh, how I was wishing for an extension table to go with my new Husqvarna Sapphire 835.  It would make FMQ and appliqué so much easier to do.   So I showed my DHH (dear handyman husband) the catalogue with the $120.00 extension table that goes with my machine and he said….”I can make that!”

And poof!  This is what appeared….

100_4205  Wishes do come true!

Having my table made it so much easier to whip up this nursery rhyme panel that I needed for a  quick baby gift this week.    The new mom is an avid collector of vintage children’s books, so I think she will love this.

And when I finish fondling these wonderful Batiks that I won at http://inchwormfabrics.blogspot.com/I’ll sew them into something magical as well.   229248abu3e9v4w9

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your wishes come true this week as well,

Playing with FMQ

It’s time to take the free motion quilting plunge!  So I grabbed some stash and made myself a table topper to practice on.  First I stitched in the ditch all the straight lines.  In the centre block I outlined the centres and the petals of the flowers.   You can see I couldn’t wait to try a bit of stippling in some hearts.

That’s my progress so far – this is going to be fun!

Finished this  topper to grace my Mother’s table.   The original pattern is from the book On the Run by Heather Mulder Peterson.  I used the basic pattern shape but have adapted it to use fabrics from my stash.

Had a lovely surprise package in the mail this week. I won this from the Prairie Flower Farm blog. Enough sweet recipes to keep me exercising, some recipe cards and an adorable fabric covered notebook.   Thanks very very much, dear Linda.

Well, if I’m going to get any practice done today I better get back to my machine.  Thanks so much for stopping by,

Addicted to Quilting

Addicted to Quilting
She Learned to Quilt on MONDAY.
Her stitches all were fine
She forgot to make us dinner
So we all went out to dine

She quilted miniatures on TUESDAY
she says they are a must
They really were quite lovely
But she forgot to dust

On WEDNESDAY it was a sampler.
She says stippling's fun
What Highlights What Shadows!
But The LAUNDRY wasn’t done

Nine Patches were on Thursday
Green, Yellow, Blue and Red.
I guess she really was engrossed
She never made the Bed.

It was wall hangings on Friday.
In colors she adores
It never bothered her at all
That crumbs were on the floors

I found a maid on SATURDAY
My week is now complete
My wife can quilt the hours away
The house will still be neat

Well, now it’s only SUNDAY
I think I’m about to wilt
I cursed, I raved, I ranted…
Cause the Maid has learned to QUILT !

I haven’t posted for awhile because I too have been very busy quilting.  Catching up on gift making so I can’t show my projects right now but I will as soon as I can.

Have a blessed Sunday,
